About Gap in the Hedge
Gap in the Hedge is a project of reflection and nostalgia. The photographs were taken on a journey the photographer used to make with his mother every time they went to see their relatives in the Rhondda Valley (Wales).
The book has the taste of a road trip, of childhood and of life in remote places. Furthermore, the series explores not only the obvious beauty of this iconic landscape of South Wales, but the relationship with its people as well as the tourists and the seasonal workers that inhabit the area. Gap in the Hedge studies the future of the place (especially after Brexit) and its past as a mining community.
