Bon Ishikawa was born in 1960, Tokyo. He is a well known photojournalist. The main theme of his photography is religion and nature. He has had his works printed in various magazines in and outside of Japan. Including Life, Paris Match, Geo, National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, etc. He has also won many prizes for his work. For example, for “The Days After” based on the Great East Japan Earthquake, he was voted as the best photographer of the year by Photographic Society of Japan (PSJ) in 2012. Then, his first feature documentary film “The Most Beautiful Village in the World” (2017), based on Nepal’s Great Earthquake was run in 40 theatres in Japan. It was also invited to be a part of 18st Jeonju international Film Festival.
