Nadav Kander (born 1961.) grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa until coming to England when he was 21; however he began taking photographers at the young age of 13.
Kander’s is most known for his work Yangtze – The Long River which earned him the Prix Pictet Prize. The project explored the length of the river from source to mouth, never wandering more than 20 miles from the banks and is widely regarded in the photography world as a landmark body of work. Despite being a truly great landscape photographer he is also widely known for his unique and powerful portraiture work of famous celebrities and important people. His incredible archive of portraiture work was recently published into a retrospective book The Meeting (2019) by Steidl.
