About

Photographs show the people of the Sahara and their culture, settlements, homes, and natural surroundings.

Bernard Plossu first visited the African desert as a teenager and was enthralled by the immensity of the horizon of African space. It was then that I took my first picture, he writes, 'and it was then that the idea of becoming a photographer entered my mind.'
