About Reverence
"Nazraeli Press is pleased to present the publication of Jeffrey Conley's second monograph, Reverence. Jeffrey Conley crafts each of his prints by utilizing two traditional darkroom methods, gelatin silver and platinum/palladium printing processes. As both the artist and the printer, Conley’s first hand technique creates a compendium of work that is as wide ranging as it is intricate and intimate. The artist has, moreover, perfected the balance between simplicity and complexity, nuanced and bold. Conley received his BFA in Photographic Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology. He then moved to Yosemite National Park where he taught at the Ansel Adams Gallery and spent years honing his craft. Jeffrey Conley has since been exhibited worldwide.
His first book, Winter, was published by Nazraeli Press in 2011 to wide acclaim and has since sold out." - Nazraeli Press “For as long as I can remember I have felt most at peace outdoors. I find the natural world to be endlessly wondrous in its range of character and texture, from moments of delicate intimacy and subtlety to the massively expansive and powerful. Nature is in constant change, and photography is particularly well suited to capture and amplify the swirling fluidity and the wonderfully serendipitous moments born of the ephemeral. Photographing nature is a very specific kind of exercise in mindfulness; to be out in nature with senses responsive, keenly aware of circumstances and also completely receptive, yielding to the present.
