Kenro izu has been photographing sacred places since the 1970s. When it comes to Bhutan (a Buddhist country in the Himalayas), Izu documented not only the breathtaking landscape but the spiritual intensity of this place and its people. The result is a stunning body of work that fluctuates between photojournalism and pictorialism. Izu's black and white images portray this place that lays almost literally up in the clouds. The photographer tried to capture the character of the Buhtanese as much as the peaceful and spiritual feel of this incredible place.
