About What She Said by Deanna Templeton

What She Said is more than the documentation of life as a teenage girl. It is also a homage to the outcasts with ripped jeans, tattoos, colourful hair. The punks, the goths, the bad-asses. Deanna Templeton's interest in capturing the female voice and perspective, goes deeper in this beautiful collection of street portraits. As a teenager, Templeton would record her troubled feelings in a journal. As an experienced photographer, she is able to find the universality of female adolescence, the feelings we share and the struggles we face.
The result is a multidimensional look at this complex part of the life of a woman; these are portraits that carry their power, their insecurities, their identity and their beauty
