Joey Judita Abrait was born in 1974 in Vilnius, Lithuania. During her teenage years, she fought together with many others in Lithuania's struggle for independence. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992, she moved to Russia and began photographing for major photo agencies in Europe. In 1998 she moved to the United States and continued her photographic work. Lives in Sweden since 2000. Has worked as a freelancer and is now employed as a photographer at the business newspaper Dagens Industri. Book of Sorrow is her first monograph.
