About
For Sersale, photography is both a way of perceiving everyday life and a means of engaging with it. Since returning to photography in 2012, her lens has captured fleeting moments of human life—ordinary but charged with subtle intensity and intimacy. Lovers, children and passers-by move through timeless urban and coastal landscapes, evoking a feeling that is both familiar and enigmatic.
The images feature Rome and Positano, Venice, New York and other cities, creating suspended scenes where reality seems on pause. Light and shadow interact to isolate moments, transforming the ordinary into experiences that feel almost separate from time itself.
Liminal Space is a meditation on human presence and transience, a study of thresholds where connection and distance coexist. Sersale’s photography invites the viewer to pause, to dwellon the in-between, and to experience a world both intimate and fleeting. Her photography, much like her work in artistic perfumery, also her profession, demonstrates a deep sensitivity to detail and the subtle interplay between perception and memory, resonating with both beauty and mystery.
