Mark Seliger

Mark Seliger has worked with many celebrities, capturing world leaders, rock stars, actors, and models for more than two decades. President Obama, the Dalai Lama, and Keith Richards are among those he has shot with the directness and sensitivity that characterize his approach. He has also photographed Holocaust survivors, focusing on the history etched into their faces and bodies. His career has taken him from Rolling Stone to Condé Nast, encompassing the world’s major publications. In this digital, self-focused age, Seliger uses film, disappearing behind the camera. In his words: “My intention is to be a chameleon…[W]hat I'm really trying to do is engage in a relationship where my subject can feel involved in the process and the outcome.”
