The Wind in the Willows - UK 1st
1908
First edition first impression of one of English literature’s most beloved works — Grahame first told these stories in letters to his young son, and when they were published as The Wind in the Willows in 1908, critics responded with mixed reviews. The book nonetheless quickly earned its place as a modern classic.
This first edition includes the half-title page and Graham Robertson’s frontispiece. A small, neat blue circular ink stamp reading “Presentation Copy” appears on the title page, marking it as an early copy from the publisher.
The book retains its original green cloth binding with an elaborate gilt design on the front cover and spine, gilt on the top edge, and untrimmed edges elsewhere. There is some minor wear to boards. Please see pics for reference.
