The first book by photojournalist Jan Šibík, who regularly visits the hotbeds of conflicts and natural disasters. The book includes 77 images from 28 countries around the world. The first part consists of black and white photographs from the collapse of the socialist bloc, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the subsequent revolutions in Czechoslovakia and Romania, the coup in Moscow and the collapse of the former Soviet Union. The second part of the book contains photographs from humanitarian disasters of the 1990s (famine in Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia, military conflicts in Rwanda, Chechnya, South Africa, Kosovo, Albania, Palestine, earthquakes in Turkey, massacres in Sierra Leone and other photographs from various places around the world.
