About
This inventive and prolific artist tackled all the themes of modernity: the machine, the dream machines that were the ocean liners (Le Normandie), architecture, female and male nudes, landscapes, and the city. In this joy of creation and the transgression of the simple photograph, he patiently experimented until he achieved the optimal result in his now-famous photographs, photomontages, and photograms. "I wanted to understand photographic technique in all its intricacies and find my own technique" (Pierre Boucher, 1935).
A designer, layout artist, graphic designer, but above all a photographer, he founded Alliance Photo in 1934 with Zuber, the forerunner of agencies dedicated to marketing illustrative photographs.
