Rebecca Norris Webb

Rebecca Norris Webb (born 1956) is an American photographer. Her seven books often combine text and images; as she was originally a poet. For the past 20 years, she’s lived in Brooklyn with Alex Webb. Together they teach photography workshops for museums, universities, and also arts organizations around the world.

She has published three photography books that explore the difficult relationship between people and the natural world: The Glass Between Us, Violet Isle (with Alex Webb), and My Dakota. Her fourth book, Memory City (with Alex Webb), is a meditation on film, time, as well as the city of Rochester, New York; in what may be the last days of film as we know it.

Also, her work has been shown worldwide, including at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; George Eastman House, New York; Ricco/Maresca Gallery, New York; and Robert Klein Gallery, Boston. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, Time, National Geographic, and Le Monde Magazine.
