The Adventures of Guille and Belinda and the Illusion of an Everlasting Summer is work of tenderness, intimacy and friendship. Sanguinetti photographed these two cousins in rural Argentina, documenting how they went from children to young women. This volume is the first one in the trilogy. Sanguinetti's documentation of the lives of the girls goes beyond two decades. Therefore, this one is the chronicle of the first five years of that collaboration. Through these poetic, natural images, the photographer portrays a childhood that is both, completely mundane yet incredibly fantastical. Actually, the duality carries through the book like a theme, mixing modernity and tradition, magical and realistic. The viewer gets sucked into the girls's world through their childhood rituals, such as dressing up and playing and exploring in the farmland. To conclude, the bond between the girls palpable. In fact, Sanguinetti was able to capture this as well as the transition into womanhood of two young girls living in the conventionally masculine Argentinian countryside.
