Influenced by her years spent in Japan, photographer Kathrin Linkersdorff draws inspiration from both the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which focuses on fleeting beauty, imperfection, and decay, and the photographic tradition of Karl Blossfeldt. For the first time, this book brings together the images from her series Fairies, which poetically capture the moment when flowers begin to wither before fading completely. The Fairies series focuses on macro photography and close-ups of flowers, capturing fading moments of decay and vulnerability.
