Daido Moriyama presents issue number 55 of his ongoing “Record” series. Originally started in 1972, Moriyama relaunched the project in 2006 and has been regularly publishing his photography in zine-like photobooks.
This 55th issue, published in October 2023, features photographs taken mostly in the area around his home of Zushi, Yokosuka, Kamakura and Yokohama. Snapshots of people—either individuals or in groups—taken on the streets alternate with photographs of posters, textures and patterns formed by objects such as gutter covers, close-up shots of animals, and photographs of spaces—rooms, city corners, back alleys.
