About the artists
Catherine Opie is an American fine art photographer. She lives and works in West Adams, LA, as a tenured professor of photography at UCLA. Lalla Essaydi grew up in Morocco but now lives in USA. Where she received her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts / TUFTS University in May 2003. Laurie Simmons is an American artist, photographer and also film maker. She is best known for creating photographs which reference domestic scenes using object such as dolls. Then, Marilyn Minter is an American visual artist. She is best known for her sensual paintings and photos done in the photo realism style. Minter currently teaches in the MFA department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Mickalene Thomas is a contemporary African American visual artist. She is best known for works using rhinestones, acrylic, as well as enamel. Petra Collins is a Canadian artist, photographer, fashion model and director who rose to prominence in the early 2010s.
